Jane Karam (가람) Choi is a DJ, producer, sound healing artist, and music consultant based in Los Angeles, CA. She spent her adolescence immersed in dance and theater, and it was by way of dancing (specifically the House style) that she fell in love with house music and the electronic music scene as a whole.

In 2012, Karam retired her dancing shoes and moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles with a singular goal: to learn how to DJ. Since then, she has been honing her craft and proving herself as a magnetic force behind the decks: a sonic captain that can unite people on the dance floor and take them on a beautiful shared journey. Karam thrives at the intersection of organic, deep and progressive house, and is a firm believer in guiding her audience through the nuances and dynamics that make music so special.

Karam has played iconic event series such as Minimal Effort and Clinic Wednesdays, and has opened for the likes of Christian Loeffler, Claude VonStroke, David Hohme and Hot Chip. Karam has a keen ability to tune into the dance floor and, regardless of genre, create a space for connection, reflection, and release.

Karam changed her stage name in 2019 to her given Korean name, 가람. In the Old Korean language, 가람 means “a flowing river”. Karam tries to embody this theme in her everyday life, flowing through life’s challenges and not attaching to specific outcomes, but enjoying the journey. Karam is a lifelong student and is grateful to serve others by sharing the gift of sound — on the dance floor, in a sound bath, and everything in between.
